Does anyone know the hurricane policy fir the resort? We are traveling in August, and have purchased trip insurance. I looked at the website, and can't seem to find a policy for them. Just like to be informed just in case.

If you have insurance then dont worry, everything is covered. When you have insurance its not up to the resort.

When we stayed at the Couples property they had a clear policy. Basically, it was something to the effect of if your flights weren't cancelled, you couldn't rescedule your trip. Two years ago, I forgot what hurricane it was, but it was headed straight for Jamaica the week of our trip. It was supposed to make landfall late in the afternoon of our second day. Since our flight was still scheduled, we decided to ride it out, and make the best of it. Imagine my joy when I woke up the day it was supposed to hit, and the storm totally took a turn away from the island!

I emailed the resort directly, and here is the response I got, in case anyone wanted to know.

Dear Ms. Sullivan,

In case of hurricane, we cancel the reservation without any penalty charge. As soon we receive a hurricane advisory we proceed to cancel the reservations.

If you need further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Warm regards,

Hi

FYI see a slightly more detailed reply I received from Excellence:

Basically if the reservation is made directly thru us or thru our web site our cancellation policy is that the reservation can be cancelled 7 days before arrival without any penalty charge and if the reservation is cancelled within those 7 days there is a penalty of 2 nights.

In a case of a hurricane and if you are in the resort you have the option to leave only paying for the nights that you stayed in the resort not for the whole stay.

Also, if the hurricane is for sure getting close to our resort and your reservation is within those 7 days within arrival date there is no cancelation penalty.

If the reservation is made thru other tour operator you will need to verify directly thru then what is their cancelation & hurricane policy.

Hope this helps
