Does anyone know how good the snorkeling is in the Jungle Tour? I have heard that the overall trip is fun for kids & adults but I want to know if we should do a separate snorkeling trip to get a better experience. Thanks.

I've heard it's best to go on the first tour of the day at 8am....anything after that and the water is too stirred up from all the boats, etc. leaving poor visibility. I don't know about this particular tour, but we did schedule the one w/Brant and the 2 for 1 discount card.

We've been on this tour -- had a great time but saw more marine life by doing the submarine. Got some great photos from the submarine of turtles, stingrays, colored fish, etc. The most fun about the jungle tour is riding out there on the jet skis. If you want to really snorkel, you should probably choose another tour.

The Jungle Tour is fun - but probably not the best snorkeling experience. It's true the best time would be to go out on the first trip of the day. If you really want to see larger and more abundant marine life, you might want to schedule a separate snorkeling tour with one of the dive ops. My recommendation is Manta Divers.

Where is the submarine tour, and how much does it cost?

Sounds cool

Doesn't Aqua World offer the submarine tour? I'm way to claustrophobic to be able to do that.

5 of went last April, loved driving the little boats! What a hoot! Snorkeling was OK, but the water was very rough the day we went, and they kept our group all bunched....I wasn't crazy about that. Loved snorkeling at Xel-Ha.

Yes, the Jungle Tour uses small 2-person boats to drive out to the reef.

The best snorkelling you will get near Cancun is in Puerto Morelos, 30mins south of Cancun there are lots of operators here who will take you out for US22 for a 2.5hour tour with an english speaking guide, or you can book online. The reef here is in much better condition than Cancun as it has been a protected area for 4 years (enforced for 2) and there are no jetskis and other motorised sports to damage the area. You will also get outside the crowds.
