Airport Hotel |

Which is the best Airport Hotel at the Mexico City Airport. I will soon have to stay there one night before travelling further to Puebla.. Or if arriving about 8 pm do you think it is better to travel the same night to Puebla and if yes by which transportation (taxi, bus)? Thanks & cheers, bowmore |

It is certainly possible to get to Puebla easily by bus. Remember that you will probably spend at least an hour getting through immigration and customs so you won't be out in the main terminal until at least 9pm. Anyway you can follow signs to something like "Transporte Terrestrial" that takes you up a level and across a walkway to 6 ticket counters, one of which will say "Puebla". Get your ticket, go down the nearby elevator and get the bus - you don't even leave the terminal building. Departures are 9.10 pm, 9.30 pm, 10.30 pm, 11.30 pm to the Puebla 4 Pte. terminal and 9.00 pm, 10.00 pm, 11.00 pm to the Puebla CAPU terminal. Cost 140 pesos, journey 2 hours. If you want to stay in a hotel near the airport then the Hilton is actually in the airport and rooms are 120 USD or more. There is a cheaper alternative (around 50 USD) called the Hotel Aeropuerto but it involves traversing a complicated set of walkways outside the building which you may not want to do so late at night (and you can't book in advance!).

Bowmore, You can take a bus from the airport to Puebla after you check immigration and customs. The last bus to Puebla leaves the airport at 2:00am and the ticket is about $15.00USD. If you want to take a taxi, the service from the airport to Puebla is close to $140.00USD. The Camino Real hotel is another option if you want to spend the night nesr the airport. M

We used hotwire.com and got a US$79. room at Fiesta Inn Aeropuerto prior to a flt to IST in Feb. If the bus schedule permits, I would do an overnight on primeraplus.com.mx/iata (first class) and save the hotel charge. M

Thanks for all the advice! As I am travelling with my wife, I will probably stay at the Hilton and travel to Puebla during the day. Cheers, bowmore
