Hey there - I'd like to hear any feedback about the Club Intrawest. We have been to Sandestin and Blue Mountain...how does this compare to their other resorts?

My husband and I were there for 5 nites this year. We are not members and booked through a travel agent. Can't give you a comparison with the other resorts you mention however will share our experience. The other guests (mostly members) seemed very happy with the resort. The setting is beautiful but we were not impressed with the service or maintenace of the facility - could be we are just more use to a "fantastic" hotel experience we had had the previous 5 nights at Las Brisas in Ixtapa.

They were not in any hurry to make up the room (late afternoon most days, one day we had to call at 4:30 to enquire when we could expect it) and there was a real problem with ants in the kitchen which spilled over to the bedroom half wall which the bed was up against (yuck)and when we complained they took no action nor seemed too concerned about. Lots of stairs to get to and from the beach, our room was lobby level and it was a 7 flight walk to the beach - they do have golf club transportation which you can request a lift - but we used the climb to wear off some calories.

The restaurant paled in comparison to so many other options in the area but I will say that their breakfast was pretty good.

Most rooms have an amazing view - however some rooms do not have views - we luckly had a partial view but a few basically look into a brick wall.

The pool areas are quite small - one adult and one children however both are only slightly bigger than you might find in someone's back yard. So if you are going in peak time - expect it to be crowded and difficulty getting chairs.

Due to the location (if the price was right) we may give it another try off season in the future, (I'll be prepared with bug spray) however it would not be our first choice in that area.

My family has stayed at Club Intrawest twice.....May 2007 and May 2008.

I'm not an owner but I found the service top notch and we usually stay at a FS property.

I found the rooms clean, fast service and the food good. It is authentic Mexican.

The location is perfect (La Ropa) and there are many hotels and restaurants within walking distance on the beach. Can walk into town (15-20 minutes) on the boardwalk.

We have a four year old so we loved the kiddie pool but did not feel it was overcroded.

The hotel was not crowded but fun was had by all.

There are great views but some are partial. Ask for the 800 bldg and you will have a full ocean view.

Can't beat sleeping in open air and hearing the waves crashing .
