Hubby and I enjoy the casual, laid-back atmosphere of a sports bar (cold beer and typical pub grub/snacks, sports to watch on tv, nice folks to chat with) and are looking to check out a few while in PV. Can you give your suggestions for those that are not to be missed (if they'll be operational mid-August)? Thanks!

Same goes for me...I'd love to find a cool spot to watch the Angels/Yankees game on 7/31 :-)

Here are three (there are many more) -- these are all located in the city's south side:

- Que?Pasa - Aquiles Serdan 625

- Captain Ron's/Asaderos Grill - Basilio Badillo 223

- El Torito - V. Carranza at I. Vallarta

Once again here's my list of mostly south side bar/restaurants with satellite

Cafe Roma - Encino #287 - Thin crust pizza - Big screen TV - Just north of

the river

Captain Ron's at Aserderos - Basilio Badillo #223 - 4 sports screens and good tavern food.

El Torito - I.L. Vallarta #290 - Many TVs - Great ribs & Chicken

La Escondida - Jacarandas #210 - Fun neighborhood sports bar

Steve's Sports Bar - Basilio Badillo #286 - The place for NASCAR and hockey

Que?Pasa - Aquiles Serdan #625 - Fun bar - Might have music at night

No Name - on the Malecón - Some folks like it, but we got charged WAY to

much for drinks there, haven't been back.

South side map found here.

For me a ball game is for back home. In PV, it's anywhere on Los Muetos beach with bare feet in the sand, cold drink, good friends and watching the sunset.

It's 'way' at the back, is it not Ted?

Bajablonde in October of 07 we were looking for a place to watch UFC. With JR maps and Ted's list we check them all out. We chose El Torito and had a wonderful time. Lot's of TV's and the staff was great.

You should give Cafe Roma a shot. We loved it and it will be our first stop on our return trip in Oct 08 I'm excited they have a big screen...not sure how I missed that lol Thanks Ted.

Big Screen was in the back at Cafe Roma, but Fox has that area closed off now, so I guess no more big screen.

Que?Pasa's got one, but it's only good when it's dark.

Aserederos has one as well.
