Weather will be similar to Miami, perhaps 2 to 3 degrees warmer. That is to say, weather could be great, or could be quite undesirable

My first visit to the Bahamas was in Feb. '05. The air was around 80 day time and low 70's evenings. The ocean water was barely 70 combined with a breeze most of the time made it marginally comfortable. That's why I now go in May and November when the ocean is much warmer. IMHO May and November are the best months there as it is not crowded and the temps are very comfortable.

...conversely, Bahamians (and permanent residents) will tell you that February is one of the best months of the year to visit the islands (December being tops, for Christmas festivities). Skies are sunny -- it's unlikely to rain -- and bug populations will be at an ebb. You would be very unlucky indeed to get a "cold" snap in February and, in any case, really wouldn't be able to tell that one was occurring. I can't ever remember (in thirty odd years) temps not going above the 15C mark during the day in the Central Bahamas.

We've been going to Eleuthera & Cat Island for the past 7 years and staying the last 2 weeks in February. During the day the temperatures are in the mid 80's and at nite go down to the mid & upper 60's which makes it great for sleeping. Us being from Massachusetts it's like heaven compared to temps back home. It's really like heaven on earth!!

The weather doesn't really matter to us anyway, it has never ruined our vacations even though we have experienced a variety of storms but nothing serious.

January of this year was quite hot, however March was cooler and May was very hot to the point we got sunburned. Our favourite months are May and November but we are squeezing in an extra trip in September - just to tide ourselves over until November !!.
