I will be in Nassau for part of Labor day weekend and I could use some advice/tips/info.

1. I have been looking through other posts and it seems like the only way to go to the nice beaches it to buy your way there. (Kinda disappointing for someone used to amazing free Caribbean beaches.) Are there any good ones that are free? If not, which all inclusive is best for 28-30 year-olds? We will probably want to have a drink or two and eat (although no beef, pork, chicken, turkey, but fish is good). Also, is it worth it to pay for the day of we will only be there for a little while in the afternoon? I have heard that you must purchase a separate pass for the evening starting at 6. What are the prices like?

2. We definitely want to go out at night, but preferably avoid the cheesy stuff. I read in other posts that Senor Frogs is good. Really? You can't be serious. The one is Old San Juan is horrible and filled with frat boys. (I used to live in PR and hang in OSJ all the time.) Is there something that has a bit more flavor? And less frat boys?

I would appreciate any info you can give, on any subject.

Thank you!

I would suggest Breezes for an all-inclusive. The day rate is around 60.00 and is good from 10:00am to 6:00pm. I'm not sure how much the evening pass is, I think around 90.00 and is good from 6:00pm to 2:00am. Both passes are well worth the money as there are many activities both day and night. All the food and drink is included and NO TIPPING!!! You can find coupons in the What to See and Do Books

Breezes Pleases is quite right about Breezes, though I think the day passes end before 6 pm, maybe at 5 pm.

Most long weekends, and especially Labour Day and Thanksgiving, are very busy which means the clubs and hotels will be full.

Thanks for your quick responses.

As far as the night life goes, I am not really into the club scene. I'd like to do something a little more laid back and local. My friend and I would love to see some live music, preferably something locally inspired. From what I have read, it looks like fish fry might be the kind of thing we are looking for. We are certainly travelers, but I don't want to be a "tourist". I lived on a tiny island in the Caribbean for a while and I got to know the difference between the two. I miss island life and I would like to get a little taste while we are there.

So any local, low key kind of info would help lots!

Thanks again.
