There are no seatbelt laws in the Bahamas, but most of the taxi's are late model vans, and are usually seat belt equipped. Car seats have been discussed many times in this forum, and different people have different opinions. Personally, you don't want to compromise the safety of your loved ones. That's my opinion. A taxi for 4 from the airport to C.S. should run you in the neighbourhood of $35 - $40 bucks, give or take. The driver may ask you for a $1 for the bridge toll.
