Hi There--

We are taking a RC cruise to Nassau, and do not want to pay the high cost to access Atlantis' private beach. What is the name of the beach that Atlantis is on? Are there other ways to access nearby areas?

Thanks!

The Atlantis beaches are on the north side of Paradise Island. There is a public access to Cabbage Beach (north side), which is located on Casino Dr., between the Riu and Sunrise Beach Club. It is a 5 min walk from the water taxi drop-off (under the bridge). The beach is technically public property, from the shore to the high water mark (wherever that is). Once you are on the beach, you are entitled to access to the public beach areas, all along the shore, but you will not be allowed access to any of the hotels, or any of the hotel amenities, from the beach area. There is tight security at all entry points.

At the public beach entry point, there is a small bar and you can rent chairs & umbrellas there from private vendors. There are no restroom facilities for the public.

If it is a nice day at the beach that you are after, you might be better off taking a day package at the Wyndham or Breezes on Cable Beach, and visiting Atlantis at night. If you walk in the front door of Atlantis, you are allowed access to the lobbies, restaurants, shops, marina village, etc.

Hope you find this helpful

Thanks Tutman! Excellent info! Is Cable better than Cabbage?

The beach itself at Cable Beach is a bit wider than at Cabbage, but the water isn't as nice. Not as clear. However, Cabbage Beach is known to sometimes be a bit rough, Cable Beach a usually a bit smoother.

Take the #10 jitney from town, to Cable Beach. It will take about 15 minutes, and I think it still costs $1 (it includes all the loud music you want to hear). THe Breezes day pass is around $55 (unlimited food & drink), minimun age 14. The Wyndham day pass is now $40, and includes some type of food voucher.

If Cabbage has clearer water, I think we'll go there. Have you been to RCCL's private island, Coco Cay? How does the water there compare to Cabbage? Thanks for all your help! If the water is similar, we may just take the Stuart Cove snorkel on our day in Nassau.

The water in both locations is very wet. (what can I say). Cable Beach is pretty good. Not the best, but certainly enjoyable none the less. If you take the Breezes day, they have activities, i.e. rock climbing wall, trapeze, etc.

The Stuart Cove's 1/2 day snorkel trip is great value for the money. You dive 2 reefs and do a shark "experience". The staff on-board are superb, and their equipment top-notch.

Enjoy your day.
