I am going to the Caymans in December 08. I am booking a sunset dinner cruise for my husband's birthday through Sail Cayman (http://sailcayman.com/). I keep seeing blogs about Red Sail, but non for Sail Cayman. Has anyone ever been on their boats? They are soooo much cheaper than Red Sail, I just don't want to book a bad deal.

Any information would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks,

melissa

Don't know Sail Cayman so cannot comment -- do know Red Sail -- first rate op, cannot go wrong. In general if it is "sooooo much cheaper than Red Sail" I would wonder about food -- none of them is offering a five star meal, but still have to pay island prices for supplies, so I would ask why is the price so significantly different. Hope this helps!

Hi-

Thanks for the reply. We actually are getting the Ritz to "cater" the food, that's where we are staying. So I am just looking for info on the service/boat.

Thanks

My guess would be that you will have a lovely time with either as the RC uses some the best vendors on the island. If you are paying separately for the food and the sail it would have to been cheaper than a combined package. I would enquire from the concierge at the RC how many guests are on sail in comparison to the size of the boat. That may also be a good indicator. A much larger boat with 40 can be nicer than a much smaller boat with six with regard to space, individual space and amenities. Have a lovely trip!!! Then again you could go totally private and have the whole boat big or small to yourselves!

How was the sail? We are thinking of booking a private cruise on Thanksgiving.

Thanks!

I am familiar with Sail Cayman. The guys that run it are terrific!!! and alot of fun. They use to work for Red Sail, then broke away and started their own business. I am sure they do a top-notch job!!!1
