Writing this report almost a month after we are back. It just seems only a few days back we were enjoying the white sands of SMB....

Well, overall we had a very good trip!! Grand Cayman is very beautiful. Liked seven mile beach a lot! I liked the different shades of turquoise in the water and the white sands on the beach. We stayed at Courtyard Marriott, so we were just across the road from the beach. Hotel was very nice and clean and safe. The only disadvantage with the Courtyard is that there arent many restaurants nearby, so neeed a bus ride for lunch/dinner unless you want to eat at the restaurant/grill attached to the Courtyard itself. Used the public buses to go to all the places we wanted to. Did not rent a car. Chose "A La Kebaba" a lot for our dinner/lunch needs :-) The wraps there are simplay amazing!!! and pretty cheap compared to other restaurant prices. We really liked the Jamaican chicken patties available in almost all the gas stations for a quick snack. And of course, the Rum Cake :-)

We did the Stingray City sandbar tour through Captain Marvins. We stopped at Coral Gardens and Barrier Reef in addition to Stingray city. An amazing experience overall!!! Exceptional clear water made it a great experience! I highly recommend Capt Marvins. Nice boat and friendly tour guides.

Also went to Turtle Farm. Pretty unique place; where else can you see 100's of green sea turtles in 1 place? :-) Also went to "Hell" and came back :-)) The limestone formations at "Hell" are pretty interesting. I felt it worth the trip there though it took and around 20 min wait to get a public bus back to SMB.

7 mile beach is gorgeous; roamed around on the beach for a long time when we were there. Sunsets were pretty gorgeous!

Public buses are pretty convenient on all days except Sunday when they are very very infrequent. So avoid relying on them on Sundays.

Also went to downtown Georgetown to visit the local attractions there. Pretty compact place and easy to walk around.

Overall found the people to be very friendly and helpful.

Cayman Islands will definitely linger in my memories for a long long time :-)

Thanks to all members of this forum who helped me plan my trip!!! Your help is highly appreciated!

Glad to hear you had fun and the CI's met your expectations and then some. Hopefully, you'll make a return trip.

The regulars on this forum have a lot of good advice and it's routinely objective and honest.

Sounds like you had a lovely time! You even enjoyed Hell! It is pretty amazing -- we used to mail our postcards on the way back from the Turtle Farm. Good luck on your next holiday!

Sounds like you had a great time. Next time you will have to try some of the local restaurants such as Welly's and Country and Western. Most of these are not in tourist areas but it seems you didn't have any problems getting around.
