There were quite a few comments previously posted about Gustav. You may consider doing a search on this site. I'd contact the place directly to find out if they incurred any problems. Overall Grand Cayman fare very well.

filter is absolutely right. The hurricane was well covered if you scroll down abit. You can also keep abreast of local weather problems, etc., by reading the news online -- caycompass.com and cayman net news. The storm had more affect on the sister islands, but you can get all the news by looking at the posts from late last week onward. Good luck with your timeshare.

From what I gather, GC fared very well. Northside and East End more clean-up, etc. than other areas, but all in all, the main island suffered no significant problems or damage:)
