We are planning to head to Cayman this weekend. Wanted to hear from the locals if anyone on the island is concerned about Ike turning down accross Cuba towards Cayman. Some models show that as a possiblity, but nothing directly about about Cayman.

Forgot to mention, click on Ike (or whichever storm you are watching)on the map, check the 5 day forecast and the computer models. You can also read the blog on the right side of the main tropical page. Good education there.

looks like Ike not going to be detrimental to Cayman Islands. Depending on his path and your flight schedule, could have an effect on air travel over the next several days.

I was supposed to arrive on Grand Cayman on Saturday Aug 30th - the same day Gustav decided to visit. We changed our flight (no charge) for Monday, Sept 1st - and adjusted our return flight accordingly. Everyone was very accomodating and when we got there, we had the place to ourselves and you would never know that a storm passed just 50 miles from the island. The weather was absolutely gorgeous each day of our trip and there were no crowds!
