Hola TA friends,

We are looking closely at Vieques in Jan. We stayed in a villa last yr in BVI in which the pool temperature was fairly cool and we could not swim in it very long. It was partially shaded, so that undoubtedly affected the temperature. What has your experience been like regarding swimming in pools in late Dec - early Jan?

And, from the research we've done, it sounds as though the surf is up along beaches on the north side of the Vieques in Jan, is that correct? Are you able to walk along the beaches even if the surf is up?

What about swimming/snorkeling at Mosquito Pier in Jan?

We like to stay in accommodations with pools, and like to be able to walk to a nearby beach. We understand that we'll be driving to the better beaches on the south side.

Thanks, alashas

we are only about forty miles from the BVI so the weather is the same. The North shore is protected for the most part by an off shore reef so there is no problem with walking the beaches except in a hurricane or "The Perfect Storm".

Properties to Consider would be Nyita Linda, Casa Ladera,The Dacha (very high end) the Villa at Martineau (also high) At The Waves, Pelican beach (modest) I think all those pools enjoy full sun.

Thanks, VSiren,

So, we can assume that pool temps in late Dec - early Jan are swimmable?

By the way, your posts are a great help to folks who are exploring the possibility of visiting Vieques.

Thanks, alashas http://honeymoon2.smugmug.com/
