We have nailed down our itinerary, will be going Sunday March 25 thru Friday March 30, flying into San Juan and staying the entire time at Copamarina. I have to admit a big reason for going back to PR is the food. I'm Cuban and it feels like home there. So, where are the best places to eat near where I'm staying (within 1 hour) and what do I get? I will certainly be eating at one of the lechoneras that first Sunday, I'll be driving past Cayey area around 1pm or so. I have heard about the pork chops at Guardarraya in Yauco and seafood at La Casita in Mayaguez. Are there any specialties in the area that I might want to know about?

The pork chops at Guardarraya are called "Chuletas Can-Can. Very good / fresh seafood at La Casita Blanca at La Parguera (Lajas) - the fish broth is medicine for the soul and the whole/fried "Chillo" in creole sauce...mmmmmmm!!!! .
