Hello. I am trying to get a little more information on the Embassy Suites Dorado for a stay with two teens 13 & 16 during Christmas week. We are looking for a nice hotel and pool, a beach that is swimable and just a few activities. I read some review saying that the beach has alot of sea weed-any opinions? Also I've read that the food is not too good-are there alternatives? I know this week will be crowded but we really don't have another time to go.

Does anyone have any other suggestions of where to stay? I don't think the family would want to travel more than 45 minutes to 1 hour from the airport. We were also thinking of the Rincon Beach Resort? What do you think?

Thanks so much for your help.

I am in the same boat and would love to hear suggestions. My teens are 18 and 14....will they be bored?

We are booked at the embassy in Dec. as well, but I'm having second thoughts? Has anyone heard if the soap opera is still being filmed there? I'm now looking at the La concha as an option?

Any more ideas yet?

Your teenagers will be happier in Condado, Isla verde, - just 15 min from the airport.... Rincon (1hr from Aguadilla) , Fajardo or Rio Grande 45-60 min SJU)

More restaurants,fun, nice beaches...

I would reconsider. Make reservatiosn now, since you will be traveling during high season.

Summervac,

Have you seen the la Concha and if so we can get rooms there, I'm just wondering if it's worth spending the extra money over an above the Embassy Suites in Dorado.

Check here:

You can also try Embassy Suites - Isla Verde

Costs will be less on transportation from and to hotel, traveling time, and extra FUN.

We had a nice time at the Embassy suites but it's not for everyone. The pools, including breakfast and manager's reception were nice. But the beach is more just an inlet.Although you can do some sight seeing there's not a lot of excitement going on. Basically it's a nice place if you have small kids or just want to relax. There are also some places for golf in the vicinity.

Sorry I do not know anything about the other hotels.

Thanks Sumervac,

It seems to me the Condado area might be more fun for older teenagers and that the Embassy suites might cater more to young families with small children. I'm leaning more towards the Renaissance now, just waiting to hear if it'll be fully functioning.
