My wife, 1 yr old son, and I are scheduled to stay at the Embassy Suites the first week of November. I am trying to get a better idea if the hotel is worth it. I have stayed at the Hyatt Dorado a few years ago so I am familiar with area. The reviews on this property are all over the place. Let me know.. would love some help

I stayed here twice when my son was just 2 years old and loved it. I thought the pool area was perfect for him. The beach was also nice to just have him sit and have the water splash on him. I'd say go for it and have a great time.

Just returned from the Embasssy Suites, Dorado Beach. It is an excellent place for families with children. The staff is attentive and the grounds are beautiful with a wading pool for the little ones. Reach it by going West on HWY 22 to 693 and make a left when you get to the main street.. It is across from the Walgreens. A little bit outside of town there is a Coldstone ice cream. Have a great time!

My husband and I and our 2 kids (9 & 11) will be staying @ the Embassy suites the 2nd week in Nov. If you do wind up staying there, drop me a line and let me know what you thought of the place. Thanks.

We just return from a three day stay at the Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar. We had an excellent time. The hotel was clean and hospitable. The pool area exceeded our expectations. The three level pools with infinity edge were very peaceful and never crowded. The beach area had some rocky spots but overall was great as well. We pulled in some chaise lounges to the water edge and had a blast while tanning in the waves! The rooms were clean and roomy, as in any other Embassy Suites. The complimentary breakfast was satisfying: eggs made to order, fresh fruit (different kind every day), cereals, bagels and pastries. Overall we had a great time and hope to be back.

My family and I are just finishing a week at the Embassy Suites Dorado.

Nice Place. Like all Embassy Suites, dependable, consistant and comfortable - you get a good breakfast every morning, free drinks every evening. Rooms have microwave and small fridge so they are family friendly. Pool is nice, shallow so good for kids. (of course that won't matter for a 1 yr old)

To be honest, the Hyatt is quite a bit nicer but you'll have to balance any price difference and the Embassy Suites goodies.

It does not have the beach or pool that the Cerromar/Hyatt Dorado had. Still, is a nice hotel if you want to stay away from the metropolitan area.

hello

Just returned fron 6 nights August 18-24 at the Golden Sands villa in Dorado. such a beautiful place. the same facilities as the embassy suites..they both share the pool, laundry, gameroom and Gym.and roomservice.the beach just a few feet away and pool was never crowded. The parking cost of 7.50 per day was a bit much.

I loved my stay everything was perfetct

The cost for the golden sand villa is much less than the embassy suites.bu you dont get breakfast..with the cooking facilities in my suite..making eggs was easy.

Let me know what else you want to know...

Just to echo everyone else- this is a great hotel for families. We stayed there when our kids were 3 and 1 years old. The pool is an infinity pool, so our 1 year old just sat and splashed. I can't say enough about the great time we had there. My only negative comment is that around Dorado, is mainly american chain fast food. You can't get much local flavor.

No,no,no,no.......Ask around!!! There are MANY, MANY LOCAL FOOD RESTAURANTS IN THE DORADO AREA, inlcuding economical local "fast food" like panaderias (bakery-deli) kiosks and local food chains like Pollo Tropical and BBQ chicken places. Lots!

Great Restaurant at the Dorado public beach " Alberto's ", prices are around $ 20 per entree. Everything we had was delicious. Ask for Alberto special, sautee snaper with shrimps, sauce covered with a flatten mofong, plus veggies
