The hotel that you are referring to is (or used to be) the Hyatt Regency Cerromar in Dorado, PR. I've been there twice and the river pool is (or was) amazing. So was the hotel in general. But as far as I know, it's been closed for several years now and if I'm not mistaken, the villas in that area are now residences.

If you Google "Hyatt Regency Cerromar", several results will show however, they might be old as I'm pretty sure that hotel is no longer open for business. Hopefully a PR expert will be able to set the record straight.

It's the Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar Vacation club resort. You can search for it on the Hyatt home page under Puerto Rico. They do rent rooms. The river Pool was getting a make over, don't know if it is open yet. The golf course are open and I thin a couple of the restaruants the the Hyatt Dorado are open. It is all being redone into a vacation club.

Thanks I knew I saw it in the Hyatt's book of hotels and it was "new." I assume they did rent rooms or they wouldn't advertise that they did in the book. Can anyone tell me how far a drive it is to old San Juan for dinner from there?

It is a bit of a drive as you have to go all the way around the bay. What you do it use the ferry. It is only about 10/15 minutes drive from the Hyatt and the ferry drops you at the docks in OSJ.
