My wife, two young sons (4 mo and 2 ys), and I will be staying at the Embassy Suites in Dorado in January 2008. We stayed there in mid January 2007 (less the infant as he was not born yet). We had a great time as the timeshare and resort was not very crowded at the time. We shopped at the supermarket near the entrance for minor items and went to restaurants more towards san juan as we were traveling a lot.

During this visit, I would like to sample some family friendly restaurants in the area. I am looking for some recommendations as the the hotel's two restaurants are not very good.

La Terraza in Dorado is very good. We were there the last week in August. I recommend it.

Here are some other restaurants in Dorado, PeeWee or great ribs (located near the McDonald's), Rest. El Ladrillo, great steaks. Also, for seafood, visit the the restaurants by Sardinera Beach (off of Rt. 697). In the mood for Pizza, check out Pizza Boy located as you approach the town square. For breakfast or pastries, o to Panaderia Villa Magna on Rt. 693. Need more info about Dorado, please feel free to e-mail me at nievesl315@comcast.net Have fun!

There is a nice Restaurant right on the public beach called " Alberto's" it was great. I had Alberto special which was snapper and shrimps sautee' in sauce with a flatten out mofongo. Just thinking about it makes my mouth watery.
