I have had very good luck uning Hertz at the City locations. Condado and the Condado Plaza. Have you sent a note to Hertz Corporate?

We had the same problem with them. We reserved a full-size car online before traveling to PR. When we got there, they said they had no record of our reservation, even when we produced the confirmation number. They had only one compact car available, which would not have worked for our very tall son. Also, there were several Hertz numbers listed in the directory, two of which were not in service, and we reached the third only after repeated tries. The whole fiasco cost us over two hours of wasted vacation time while we tried to line up a car with another agency.

We are arriving in San Juan on April 10th and have reserved a minivan (family of 6) from Hertz online. Now I'm getting worried. Any advice?? If I cancel now, what other companies at the airport do you recommend?

Just call the office you are renting from and confirm the reservation. That way if they so not have it, they can find it and get it set up before you arrive. If there is an issue, call the corporate reservation number and let them know there is an issue. Prepare ahead of time and you should be OK. If you want to try something else. Try Hotwire. I have gotten great deals in the past. You have to pay upfront and don't know the company, but the 2 times I did do it, I ended up with Budget at the airport.

We are renting from Hertz at the Caribe Hilton. Are there problems with that Hertz dealer??? Thanks

I can't speak about any location except the one at the airport, which was where we had the problem. Thanks to the diligence and kind assistance of a porter at El Convento, we were able to make alternate arrangements with L&M, a local agency, and had a great experience with them all the way around.

l & M is in front of the CH, they are reliable and have good prices.

You should not have a problem at the Hilton Location. The Airport is the Mass cluster ^$%#. The city locations seem to be just fine.

Bob - Is there anywhere to rent a car in Dorado itself? We are considering taking a shuttle from the airport and getting a car at or near out desination. We will be staying at the Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar. Thanks.
