My wife and I are going to spend a four day weekend for our anniversary at the Ritz form 9/16 - 9/19. I have heard that the restaurants on property are a little expensive / small portions.

Any suggestions for meals would be appreciated.

Thanks

Any particular cuisine? Here are some examples: Wyndham El San Juan has several restaurants that are excellent. The Palm is an outstanding steak house. La Picolla Fontana is an extraordinary northern Italian restaurant. Outside the hotels you can go to Pescaderia Atlantica, it has excellent seafood with a Spanish flair. Located further down the street near Ocean Park neighborhood. For Cuban/Puerto Rican fare go to Metropol across from the Ritz. Very delicious with reasonable prices. Enjoy your trip to San Juan

Avoid Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Overpriced, overhyped, poor value. We just got back from PR and will check our bills for the best places. I'll check back soon.

Hi,

A local favorite close to you is Metropol. (It's basically across the street from the Ritz) They have awesome local cuisine, consistent service, and they wont break the bank.

Also try Lupis (about a block down from you) for great, affordable Mexican themed lunches and dinner.

Down Isla Verde avenue (you may have to take a cab...it's about three miles away) dont pass a restaurant called "Che's" for the absolute BEST Argentinian food! The Churassco (skirt steak) is top-notch!!! I visit frequently! The prices are very affordable there too.

Also within walking distance is a place called Sonny's. The service is a bit laxed, but you may not mind because the restaurant sits on a wooden deck actually OVER the water! Actually, you can see it from the hotel beach...as you're looking at the ocean, to the left, it's on the point. It's a bit tricky walking there...but your concierge may be able to point you the right way. It's the same lot as the Empress Hotel.

Try their seafood and a drink called a Coco Loco!

Have fun!

Hola,

I used to be a concierge in Puerto Rico so maybe i can help you. We have a lot of good restaurants here. Some are very expensive and others are not. What are you looking for?

Let me know the type of food and ambience.

We like almost all cuisines. Seafood, Steak, Italian, Spanish. We are looking for places where I can wear Chinos and a shirt with a collar. My wife will wear a skirt. No jacket or tie!

Basically, we are wide open.

Thanks

If you want to stay at the Isla Verde in a Casual ambience you shoul definetly have to go to Metropol to eat Puerto Rican/ cuban food. Also in Isla Verde go to Steak & Co. For good casual Italian go to Da Luigi, only 5 minutes away from Isla Verde. If you want to try something a little bit more expensive but affordable go to Ropa Vieja in Condado For some Jazz and dine go to cafe Carli Concierto in Old San Juan. Also in Old San Juan go to Parrot Club. Out Side Dinning got to Cafe Bohemiol Old San Juan. Bistro de Paris, in Miramar.

I will write you some more but i have to go know. Write back to me.
