I am wondering....have you checked out the traveller reviews here on TA and also ther photos?

Although I have not stayed there, the hotel gets many, many good reviews.

Things to consider when listening to folks' opinions (if I may say so):

-What kind of traveler are they? (aka used to 5-star service or more budget accomodations)

-What were their expectations going in?

-Was it their first time to the island?

-When they were staying there, had there recently been a tropical storm that could have churned up the sea?

Were I you, I would compare the amount of good reviews vs. not-so-good ones, and in your case, not worry about your honeymoon selection.

beach isn't the greatest at RDCC, but from my memory it's not THAT bad.... the beach they are describing sounds like club ambiances' to me...

My husband and i have just returned after a lovely week. there are two coves..one near the beach grill(far end) does get some weeds after storms and is a little rocky in areas...the first one near near the garden cottages and massage huts is lovely...the water is really warm and clear and you can see any small rocks that may be scattered..as well as all the fish. The beaches are endlessly cleaned and raked and if sea weed is washed up thay go out first thing in the morning to collect it in a boat..Maybe other people have been after a bad storm..but i can recomend a lovely holiday and lovely people..i recomend the end cove by the garden cottages ..also swimming at sunrise is very special...have fun !!

hi Mary ann.

The rdcc is a lovely place. The beaches are kept clear of weeds every day and the sea is clear and warm. Occasionaly if the wind gets up the water is churned up but it soon clears. There are some areas of rocks but these are easily avoided. Me and my other half are going on the 13 jan and getting married on the 19 jan. Just can't wait to get there. Dave

RDCC is a lovely hotel and beach is kept spotless and seaweed is collected every day..

found swimming in the sea fine.. there are rocks around but further up the beach past the jetty..

You will have a fab time here.

might be worth reading some reviews to se how people have found RDCC.

The only thing we found with going on the beach is that you couldnt always get a sunbed unless you were up early..

congrats on choosing jamaica for your honeymoon

good luck with the wedding
