We stayed next door at Grand Lido once and the airport noise was really bad starting early in the am. The rooms had lourve windows with no gIass so even with earplugs I woke up to the small planes taking off and the other guests with early tee times taking loudly outside the room everday. Is airport noise an issue at Couples Negril?

Thanks

We were at Couples Negril last July and never knew there was an airport nearby. Now I remember reading about it. There are all glass windows and no airport noise.

Go CN next time.

Silly question - if there is an airport so close by, why on earth do the airlines fly to MB and give everyone a 90 minute transfer time?

It is a very small airport, not international. the planes that fly from MB to Negril are small planes.

Sorry but this was not meant to be a silly question Bachus.

I was woken up every am at the crack of down by the prop planes landing and taking off accross the street. And since CN is next door I wondered if the same thing would happen if I stayed there.

zara-

I think you read it wrong, he was asking the question himself and prefaced it with " silly question" as in " This may be a silly question but...."

Get it? :)

I guess I read it wrong. You can fly from MB to Negril during the day hours only on the small planes for maybe around$100 one way.

There is an airport across the street from CN and Grand Lido. http://www.westendnegril.net/air.html

The two points of entry into Jamaica via plane are Kingston and Montego Bay. Flights into and out of this airport are privately booked.

You will find that the little airport operates from sunrise to sunset and some of the planes have loud motors however staying at Grand Lido or Couples Negril the noise is NOT an issue.
