The resort is located across the street from the beach. The is quiet, peaceful and serene resort. It is a place to chill, relax and get away from it all. The food is fantastic with a wonderful staff. If you are looking for a quite getaway, this place is perfect.

NB: This resort was too quiet for my liking. I am not the laid back type :-).

Hope this helps

Hi BC, As above the resort is lovely, almost faultless, but way to quiet for us. Beach accross the road is no problem really, but it's not on the long stretch of 7 mile, it's between the 2 Riu's at the side of the office of nature, heading out of Negril, nice spot but again too quiet for us, but if you like that then thats your place, everything else was super and the room was really neat, up in your own little tree house, well, close to it anyway. Try Techniks web site devoted to there vacation, it's a really good site she did, as she was so impressed by the place. JD:)

We were at SATP in March 08 and stayed at CSA in February 07. CSA is much better than SATP. We found the food to be be poor at SATP, the sit down restaurant was the worst and the food on the buffet all had the same brown sauce on it and it was cold. The food at CSA was very good, they even had lobster night on Saturday and had the leftover lobster on the Sunday morning buffet. The accommodations are probably equal but I got eaten alive at SATP and did not at CSA. CSA also includes alot more things such as catamaran sail, snorkle trips, scuba, shuttle to cliffs, beach service for drinks, etc When we stayed at SATP the Hobie that was available for SATP guests was broken during our entire stay but they could rent us a Hobie if we wanted to pay. At SATP you receive 1 bottle of water for your rooom upon arrival if you want more you have to purchase them.I found the staff to be happier at CSA. On our next trip to Jmaica we may try Couples Negril because we like the calmness of Orange Bay you can kayak all day and see some really cool things. We would NEVER return to SATP. Not tha is was bad it just wasn't what we look for in vacation. Just our opinion Couples tries harder to please and does.

Hi,

My boyfriend and I spent a week at SATP from July 24 to July 31... one word : amazing. Back to work has never been so hard. I wouldn't be able to compare with another resort since it was our first time in Jamaica, but we were looking for something intimate, and I wanted to avoid the cement buildings right on the beach that you end up seeing in all your pics...

It was just perfect. Walking along the beach on Bloody Bay and passing the other resorts, we were only comforted in our choice, after seeing the amount of lounge chairs really close to each other, and (argh) the loud techno music coming out of the speakers all day long at some of the bigger resorts.

The food was really good, the staff extremely friendly, the rooms and restaurants -bamboo everywhere- gorgeous and the grounds/vegetation/tree houses took our breath away.

Because it is a small resort of only 65 -private- rooms (no common wall with another room), we sometimes felt that we were alone in the resort. The pool (very clean) doesn't get crowded at all, we were always alone in the jacuzzi, the restaurant area is open and breezy, we got to try a different table everyday.

We took a tour of the property with the gardener and this guy was one of the many highlights of the trip. don't miss him if you decide to go there.

Don't hesitate to contact me for more information, I also have a pic album I could give you the link to.

Jess

We loved SATP last November. It is the perfect place to relax and chill out. The pool is on the small side, but there was never more then 2 or 3 people in the pool. We (2 couples in our 40's) had a wonderful time and did not find our stay too boring. We enjoyed not having large crowds & loud music on "our" beach. Your choice of resorts should be based on what you want out of a vacation. We thaought the food was good and the minimal entertainment was perfect for us. Cant wait to go back-no big box resorts for us.

It all really depends on what you're looking for but YES to all of your questions but SATP is located in Bloody Bay not 7-mile beach - big difference.

Most of the larger AI resorts are located in Bloody Bay which means it's much quieter (no local bars and restaurants = less traffic and less to do). 7-mile beach is only a short cab ride away and is where most of the "action" is at. 7-mile beach would be great if you want a lot bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Both resorts are very nice but the main difference between SATP and Couples is the size - 86 rooms at SATP and 312 rooms at Couples Swept Away. Because of the smaller size of SATP it's very intimate and quiet which caters to some but not to others.

I work with the public on a daily basis so for me I want peace and quiet while on vacation. No big mega resort or large crowds and I'm a happy camper :) You can always take a short ride to 7 mile for the bars ect. Satp's is great for totally chilling out with good food and people.
