Does anyone that has been to Sandals GOR lately know the timeframe for the construction on the new restaraunt? We are going in a couple weeks, and didn't know if the construction would still be there. It isn't a big deal to us, just curious.

Just got back Sun. They are still working on the restaurant on the pier. There was a bit of noise the 1st 2 days but then there was no more jackhammering for the week. They are making a lot of progress. It didn't bother us. We had a beachfront room on the far right side of the hotel and you couldn't see any of the construction. They did complete the bridge which connects the beach club and the beach in front of the riveria, so that was nice not having to take a shuttle over there. It's a beautiful resort, very well kept.

We had a great time!

caper,

you said you had a beachfront room, so I take it you were on the Riveria side?? If so, how did you like that side? Our room is oceanfront riveria side. Leave 3/19. Cannot wait!!!

Thanks

Gobigblue, we loved being beach front, we could hear the waves from our room. I would request a room witht the last 2 digits in the 30's if you're in the Riveria side. At this end you are not directly over the restaurants and bars. We had a great view of palm trees, beach and ocean. We could not see any of the construction from our room.

It was really nice, we were offered the upgrade to the manor side but did not take it. We're beach people and found it too far, also quite muggy up on the manor side. We had a nice breeze in our room and would leave the doors open all nite long.

I just got back and the construction was still going strong. In fact it was more prevalent than I had thought. I would guess by the progress that it's going to be some months before the work is complete. I would add that for the most part is was not very noisy and there are 2 other beaches to enjoy as well as the one where the construction is being done.
