We are going to SOR Jan 15th to the 22nd. The resort was to open 1/1/05. Has anyone been there to see how the renovations went? Did they upgrade rooms, amenities etc??? Report as inappropriate |

Just returned 1/1 and they had already opene the new part called the Manor. It was a nightmare. Many rooms were not ready but rented. No one knew what was going on or where. The front desk was constantly filled with people complaining. The pool area however is fantastic and the people are nice. We got more information from the guests than we did from the hotel. My husband and I are going to SOR with another couple Feb 3rd to the 10th. We are all a little nervous because any reviews we have read are not that great. Yes, I also heard that in order to get to the beach from the new location you have to take a shuttle. However, the shuttle comes every 10 minutes which is not bad. Again, the new addition according to the map is behind the old one, therefore, the distance to the ocean will take some time if you decided to walk. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

Also, if you want to see pictures of the new area, then go to expedia.com. However, SOR is listed twice, one is the old resort and one is the new resort. From what I gather it looks great. Report as inappropriate | ||||||
