Hello everyone... my husband and I booked a 7 night stay at the Couples Sans Souci resort... but the recent reviews leave me wondering if we did the right thing. I could really use some encouragment right now. Can anyone help?

Also, we booked a beachfront Jaccuzzi suite and people seem to be calling them "tired"... is it really that bad?

Go to couples.com

There you will find a lot of good advice - I would not worry too much about the last couple of reviews. I really dont believe reviews that are soooo negative - especially when it looks like that person is new to Trip Advisor. Just my opinion, but I have been to SansSouci and the reviews seem just too far off track to be believed. It is not perfect, no place is, but the negatives seem exagerated.

It's an awesome property. However since the b/f rooms were the last ones that were supposed to be worked on starting some time soon till the end of this year it is no suprise that some may be complaining. But these are our favorite rooms at this resort. In regards to food & from what I read regarding the room service menu, why they decided to keep the same menu from when this was a grand lido property "years ago" is beyond me. To still state filet mignon when all you get is one of the oddest piece of tough meat instead is ridiculous. As far as the help, well I don't know what exactly went on there, but the original staff was awesome & little by little they were either forced out or just left. So I can see the negative reviews for what they are, since those comments unfortunately are true.

That said, the property itself is very unique. Regardless of the above issues that were in the reviews try to enjoy your stay. The b/f rooms were our favorite of all & if for some reason you get one that has more issues than you could stand then ask to be relocated & if you still have issues ask to be switched into one of the remodeled rooms. I hope you can have a great time regardless of these particular things.

We booked the same room category at CSS for the first week of December and heard it is a very romantic property with gorgeous views. I've been reading the same reviews as you and am completely confident in our choice. I like the thought of being close to the restaurants and Jamerican is right, just ask for another room if you are dissatisfied. I posted a question on the Couples site about splitting our stay between two rooms and it is an option... When are you going?

Hi Travelfeen,

Can you please let me know how to find the 'couples site' you mentioned?

I am attending and planning a wedding at CSS in December. Thanks!

We really loved our stay at CSS. We did not like the location fo the beachfront jaccuzzi suites but we did liek the room itself. A lot of people like the central location of these rooms but we like to be further away from everything where it's nice and quite.

There rooms are not loud... but they are in front of the main pool where pool vollyball happens from time to time. I'm not sure why... but pool vollyball players always tend to yell...

Thanks everyone... we are going August 25-Sep.1... I can hardly wait! I guess I was feeling worried about the last two posts on this website... they were both 1's.

My hubby and I will be celebrating our 22nd anniversary...( a belated 20th)...

We;ve never taken an all inclusive trip so I really don't know what to expect, not to mention how hard it was to choose:).

We are hoping for romantic, quiet, good food, boutique style. We are both full time pastors and really need some R&R.

Thanks again.

Yes, you did the right thing! I went last month and it was wonderful!

The grounds are beautiful, the restaurants are very good, it only has about 150-180 rooms so you get to know some of the staff and other visitors and, unlike a bigger place such as Couples Swept Away, there's no problem booking reservations for water sports nor the restaurants.

The beach is small, but private, quiet and the water is beautiful. The sand is not white, it's more brownish (especially because the plow it everynight) but it is not crowded. It is very peaceful and relaxing.

The pools are very nice. There is a wonderful bar at the mineral pool which serves yummy fruit drinks.

The shows on the Balloon Bar Terrace every night are very good.

I, too, heard that the beachfront rooms were "tired." I had booked an ocean balcony room, assuming it would be in a block on the hill since the picture of the one on the web site is in one of those blocks. When I arrived, they had put me in a balcony room on the beach.I knew those rooms were not newly refurbished as are the rooms in the blocks on the hill, so I asked for a different room, one that had been refurbished. I was given a room in block G and loved it! Our view was fantastic and it was quiet, away from everything in block G. There were alot of stairs to walk when we went to the beach, but I didn't care, it provided me a little exercise.

I have seen people on here, however, who say they were worried about the beachfront rooms but ened up loving their room, that their room was very nice even though it had not been refurbished yet.

I, myself, prefer to stay in a more quiet, private location. The bar pool, the beach bar and the Bella Vista are all right in front of the beach rooms and I heard guests say they could hear the noise from the bar until they close at 1:00 am.

You will have a great time. Don't worry. I always say if I go, and tell myself everything will be good, it is. If I go, looking for the negatives, my experience will be negative.

Some of the bartenders are a little reserved, but mostly the staff are very attentive and accomodating, and efficient.
