Just got a call from Sandals offering us an upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite with concierge level at SGOR for $400.00. We are booked in a standard manor room right now. Is this worth it? I really don't think we will be in the room a whole lot, and I don't know if I want to have to do the jitney thing all the time. The resort is sold out for the dates we are going to be there. Is that why they are offering upgrades? Has anyone experienced this? Are the standard rooms adequate?

Luvnsunshine, that is a completely subjective question really. Is the $400 for a week? That is a VERY good price, if it is worth it to YOU.

I like the concierge level rooms, but that is me.

Here is what you will get with that concierge level:

A more private check-in in the Concierge lounge

One office/person to see to all your needs (ie: dinner reservations at Orchids or Kimonos at Dunn's River, spa appointments, tour arrangements, etc...)

Stocked bar in your room, and with the spread of the resort, that can be very handy!

Private concierge level cocktail party

Stuff like that...

So, if any of that interests you, go for it. If you don't think you will enjoy those things or would get your money's worth from the upgrade, skip it.

Enjoy!

Honestly I might say go for it..But then again I might just take my chances...If the resort is sold out you might get an upgraded anyway without paying the money...

What are the dates you are going?

Have you made a decision yet?

I am going to SGOR in March - booked the cheapest room. I don't know, but I do prefer being on the ocean side, however having a fridge and bar in the rooms would be nice.

We are going to be there January 17-23. We decided to take our chances. We are going with 6 other couples and doubt if we will be in our rooms that much. It was an upgrade to the plantation villa. We figure we will spend the extra money of tours or something. It will be a blast no matter where we are (we hope). I might have considered it a little more if it was an upgrade to the Riviera building... I have read here a few times about people who were called to upgrade and then when they got there, it wasn't available. Four more sleeps....

Hello Luvnsunshine,

I know this is an old post was wondering if you got upgraded after all? Also how was your trip? Any tips or favorites I should not miss out on? Tours, did you visit the other resort? Leaving in 3 weeks!

Thanks,

Dawn
