That depends mainly on your budget and the type of person you are. Do you prefer beach over night life? Crowded vs. less crowded? Younger hip spots vs. laidback etc.

Negril has the best beaches on the island. Ofcourse we are in the middle of spring break so if that is not your kind of thing then you may want to go to Mobay instead. If you decide on Negril then I would recommend Grand Lido, Hedonism II or Point Village.

Hi, Ajeti!

If you like the beach, there is a place right on Negril Beach with oceanview rooms, a/c, and everything. Just $60/night. It is owned by a very nice woman named Deta 876-422-0339. I will be staying there when I go in a couple of months, and am looking forward to it very much. It is close to everything, she even has a mini mart next door for your to pick up groceries and what not, and a small frig in the room to put everything in. We just wanted a small, relaxing place to stay right on the beach where we wouldn't really be bothered either. This is also not a place that is advertised on the internet, so the spring breakers haven't even heard of it. ;)

Good luck and hope that you have fun!!

Leah

As Alimirage said, it depends on what you are looking for. Negril does have the best beaches, clearly, but right now it's spring break and there are a lot of activities going on. If you like peace and quite, then I suggest you go to Port Antonio/Portland. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and very tranquil. If you're a nature lover, Portland's the way to go.

Irie : )

Hey, Ajeti!

I second that emotion!

When I was doing research for my vacation, I fell in love with Port Antonio!!!

I will be spending a week there in May, and will be staying here. www.moonsanvilla.com

I like it because they took care of everything I needed, plus it's right on the Blue Lagoon!!!

The owner was so nice...I think there are only four rooms, so it's not a hectic place. When you stay, you have free access to Frenchman's Cove and the Blue Lagoon, plus if you stay for a week, you have free use of the kitchen/restaurant...meaning, you have to buy the groceries and then you are free because the staff will cook it for you for free.

The owner, Greg, can also help you with actvities in the area, and try to get you local rates for as much as he possibly can if you ask him, including transportation :)

When I was looking around, I just knew that I had to stay there. And it is definitely a place where I would want to go by myself....yeah....on second though.... I might just leave the boyfriend and go !!! Just kidding, of course. I wish you well in your planning. Good luck!

SeaLeah
