I am trying to find something that will really interest my husband while in Jamaica. Does anyone know if there is any deep sea fishing or something similar? A lot of what we have planned has been my idea so far and he mentioned a buddy doing this in Mexico, so I thought I would just check.

Thanks Susanne

Hello Susanne,

The deep sea fishing is a great sport in Jamaica although slightly costly. If the hotel cannot give you detailed info on the subject then I recommend for you to speak with some of the locals in the area. They will be able to accomodate your husband for a few hours or half a day. The money that you have to spend will go into supporting the local community.

The main and most important fact is that you will have an enjoyable time and with a little bit of luck you will eat some fresh fish that night. ENJOY!

Hi Susanne...

In the event you're staying in Negril, contact Stanley (Stanley's Deep Sea Fishing) at 876-957-0667 or deepseafishing@cwjamaica.com

Here's his website for more info...

Have fun :)

Thanks Johnny and Living Legends. We are staying at RDCC (Runaway Bay) I will check with the hotel or a local when we get there and hopefully find something close to there. Although it would be nice to book before we go, cause knowing my husband he won't let me book it there because he'll think we should be doing things for me. I think I will have to surprise him on my own. He is very much into making this trip all for me!

Thanks and Take Care Susanne

Hello Susanne,

There is nothing wrong with allowing your machoman to take care of you. My thoughts are on the weather. There has been a lot of wind there lately and I would not like him to be out fighting against the big waves trying to bring in a Blue Marlin.

Thanks Johnny, I don't think he's exactly a machoman as he is just very considerate of what I like to do, especially on this particular holiday. I think because you mentioned the wind I will just play it by ear and see what it looks like when we get there. I do want to bring him home with me and not have him lost at sea!!
