taim,

My usual drink is beer so I didn't really check out the liquor selection. I did see Absolute vodka and I did see them making martinis although I don't know if they were flavored martinis. I did not see any flavored Stolie vodka but I wasn't looking for it. Sorry. I also read on this site that some people had problems with hot water. Fortunately I didn't have that problem. I don't know if it depends on which side of the resort you are on or what building you are in. I was on the Tropical side in building 23. Happy to try to answer any other questions.

Thanks for your info. Anything else you think would be helpful? Hoe are people dressed at night? I also heard they do not give you towels daily?

I wore shorts at night. I only went to the buffets to eat so I don't know if the other restaurants require something dressier than shorts. I didn't notice people being too dressed up. There were some women with summer dresses on but most people were very casual. I received towels everyday in my room. I liked that the towels were the very large bath towels and they were in good condition. I did leave the maid a few dollars each day before I left the room so that may have helped. I usually returned to my room between 4:00 and 5:00 and it was always cleaned by then. I also read some posts about problems with this but, again, I fortunately didn't have any problems. I also didn't run into any problems getting towels by the pool and those towels were also in good condition. I've been to AIs in other locations and I've found the pool towels to be a bit worn but that was not my experience at Melia Caribe. I had a great time. I found all the staff very helpful and friendly. The only problem I had was with the room safe. I had set the safe and had opened and closed it a few times when suddenly I couldn't get it opened. I called the service number and two guys were there in less than 30 minutes (I'm not even sure it was that long). They opened the safe for me and tested it. They ended up having to change the keypad. This happened the first night I was there. After that, my biggest problem was deciding where to sit on the beach!!! If you decide to go I hope you enjoy.
