I just came back from the Sirenis Cocotal and they rating on this hotel on this site is #47. But what confuses me it that the Sirenis Tropical, which is practically the same hotel is rated #20.

How is that possible?

They share the same beach, the same pool, the same disco, the same casino, the same spa, the same tennis court, the same entertainment complex and the specially foods are interchanged in terms of locations. Ie the Italian/Mexican on at the Cocotal and the Steak/Crepes, Mediterrian, Chinese, etc are at the Tropical, but we had access to these. So I believe the food is about the same.

I realize the Tropical has one bedroom rooms verses studios for the Cocotal but I don't understand how that alone could count for the large discrepancy. Especially when the Cocotal costs less. So they should be comparable on a value basis.

I'm just curious as to how much stock one should put in these ratings when I know these two hotels are basically interchangable.
