This resort is fairly secluded, it is the first on the strip, and the others are probably a mile or so down the beach. You can't see the other resorts because Catalonia is in a bit of a bay, but you can walk around the Bay - about a 20 minute walk. Honestly, this was not a great beach when we were there last February - small and weedy, not crystal blue like the other Bavaro Beach resorts --- However, the rest of the resort was great.

We stayed at the Catalonia Bavaro last February. The beach is not as nice as others along that strip, the reef comes closer to shore in front of it and it is very weedy. This resort is at the end of the strip, but you can walk down to the others, about a 20 minute walk - but it is not sandy shore the whole way, you have to be a little adventurous! The pools on the resort are great, and very lively. But, being big beach people, we were disappointed with Catalonia's beach, and we were a little envious when we saw the other beaches.
