I am considering making reservations at the Royal club at the Catalonia Bavaro. Is it worth the extra $ and does anyone know what rooms and specific amenities are? The descriptions on the websites don't seem to be very specific.

Also, a few people have commented on the lack of hot water or no water at all in their rooms. Is this a major problem with this resort?

Hi

I suggest you message Lea:

as she is a very experienced traveller [DR is like her second home]. Lea was at the resort only a few weeks ago and will answer all your question thoroughly and honestly

Lea is a wealth of information.

In the meantime, I will point you to a thread that I started a couple of weeks ago with the same questions. You may find some answers here.

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g147293-i28-k21095…

I also found that by typing "Catalonia vs" in the search function here, I got better hits detailing the difference between them.

I haven't been there yet, but according to what I've read, the upgrade will be worth it for us.

I've read that villas 40, 42, 44, 46 are the ones that are on the Royal side.

Hi Bigmoe,

We had plenty of water during our stay and it was hot. I can answer many of your questions by providing the link to the post I started during our vacation at The Royal Catalonia. After reading through it if you should need any more info just let me know ..

We loved the Royal Cat and are returning next July !

Peace

Hot Water???

Lea,

for what you need hot water in the caribbean???

ha ha

i don't even have the hot water line connected to my shower here on the ocean front,

but i would right away connect a "Ice-Water" line if there would be one available, he he.

the island is hot everywhere all day long,

nothing better than a Ice shower after a long day on the beach.

have fun

Mike
