I emailed the wedding planner at Eden H a month ago (Lilian delaCruz) to book a wedding and in response got a form letter, along with the wedding packages. Questions regarding the packages and Eden H location have remained unanswered. Also, no date has been confirmed and when my agent called to speak to the planner directly, she found that Lilian didn't speak English enough to understand what she was asking!! We've lost 2 travel dates for our group (50+) because the resort booked up while we were waiting for ceremony confirmation. Our invitations can't be ordered until we know the date. I have a really bad feeling about all this.... how will we ever plan the loveliest day of my daughter's life when we can't open up any lines of communication with Lilian??!! Don't know whether to ask for a refund of our deposit and go elsewhereor what. Don't know if other wedding planners in the DR are the same?? Originally we were going to go to Jamaica, and the wedding planner there emailed daily with little bits of info and such. Decided in favour of DR because of the better rates for our guests, but now am having second thoughts. Help!!

ps PC Mike has been a God send in all this, but even he can't work miracles.

I am also having problems with the wedding planner at Grand paradise bavaro, we actually went there in may to meet with her first. Got some information and her contact, she is really nice. But now that it comes down to it shes not responding to my emails. Our wedding party (32) is booked and we do not have confirmation from the judge. We are really starting to get nervous.

Angel ... when is your wedding planned for?? And, if you STILL haven't gotten a confirmation of wedding date, how did you send out invitations??? I guess this difficulty in communication is common all over the DR. It's sooo frustrating. I sure do wish I spoke more Spanish than Ola, gracias and por favor.

I am sending you both all of the best wishes and prayers that I can.

Leanna, I do not know what resort in Jamaica you were looking into, but I can tell you that my husband and I got married in Jamaica last December, it was wonderful and very easy, the wedding coordinator was great and took care of everything for us. We only had a party of 12 but on the same day as we got married there was a wedding party of 45 and I spoke with the bride later in the week and she said the same thing that everything was great. Just an FYI.

Best of luck and best wishes.

I understand your fustration with waiting for responses from wedding coordinators. Before I booked the Majestic Colonial I had been talking with other resorts and felt they were not going to work out then I started asking The wedding Coordinators at the Majestic about weddings and they were great and did a very good job answering emails. I can't remember exactly what resort it was in punta Cana but they took 6 months to get back to me, by then I was already booked for the Majestic.

Thanks to all who posted. It means a lot to have the support of others through this. I've just found out that Transat won't post our deposit until next week, so I'm going to actively pursue other avenues for the rest of the week and see what happens. Where in Jamaica did you get married (Blondie)??

Hi Leanna,

These are stressful times...

Where also getting married at EdenH this coming xmas.

We where lucky enough to get our dates booked and confirmed for the 22nd of December.

If you find your co-ordinator(Lilian) is not answering your emails in a timely manor, one suggestion I would give you would be to give Mike a shout about it, he WILL email you back.

He truly is a God send at this resort.

Everyone needs to relax!! Everyone is missing the point of a destination wedding!! My daughter was married at Edenh in April. We booked the resort without the wedding date in September, the place was not even built yet. We received confirmation in February. The whole point of a destination wedding is getting to spend a stress free week with family and freinds. The bride does not have to run a round like a chicken with her head cut off. Everything is done for you. If you are expecting a wedding like you have in our country, then your not going to be happy. The day that our daughter got married, she was in the pool 1 hour before the wedding, she was stunning!! It was the most moving experience any of us had witnessed!! We travelled with a group of around 40 and had 8 guests at a another resort. We did not send out invitations, but merely told people, she is getting married in the dominican, would you like to come with us. We sent inivitations for a party when we returned for those who could not join us. The whole experience was amazing... It is not about the decorations and cake and the invations and the flowers it is about freinds and family. We found out what day she was getting married about 1 month prior and she told the wedding co-ordinator what she wanted when she got there. They arrived 4 days before the rest of us. So relax and enjoy the most moving and beautiful experience of your life!!!
