Folks, need your help! I was originally planninng on booking the Golden Club but have just found out that they do not accomodate 3 adults and 1 child in those rooms anymore (even though the 3rd adult is only 13 but that's another story) so the only other rooms available for 3 adults and 1 child is the Premiere which just opened this past month and apparently are the rooms FURTHEST from the beach. Can anyone say whether its still worth going to the BP or should I look elsewhere.

My other choice was the Sunscape Beach but then after reading how rough the waters are I'm a little weary.

Any help would be appreciated.

We were there Nov 9 - 16. The Premier Club part of the resort was still under construction and appeared to be a long way from opening. It was not open when we left on the 16th.

Winterb, thanks for the update. When you were there did you stay in the Principe side or the Bavaro side and did you notice any difference. Apparently I can still get a triple occupancy through Signature which is on the Bavaro side. If you stayed on the Bavaro side any recommendations of which building is best.

Thanks!

I would stay away from Premier at all costs. We were just there last week and that is where ALL the construction is. I can't imagine that it would be very quiet. It's also a good 500 yards or more from the beach.

I would check with them again about the golden. we were in building 2 room 2108 to be exact. We had a king bed but the room right next to us 2107 had 2 double beds. I don't know why they are telling you it won't accomodate 4 people in golden.

We were also there last week and were in building 2. We had 1 king bed but it looked like the couch opened up to a bed, although I never checked that out. I highly recommend the club golden (air transat) as we were in building 2 and had a view of the ocean. The staff also kept calling us the vip's and gave us whatever we needed. :0)

Unfortunately I called Air Transat who called the hotel directly and this is a new change. They used to offer Triples but have now changed the policy. They can't do anything to anyone that has it booked but is no longer offering it to new bookings. My loss, I am planning on booking with Signature which is in the Bavaro side and will save approx. $600.00 CDN for 3 adults + 1 child. It's either this or go to another hotel.

Thanks for all your input.

Just returned on nov.25th,stayed in the club golden section, couldnt get any closer as we were the closet room to the beach. We had a king size bed and I did notice that there was a door to the next room, which would adjoin to another room. We had room20106. There was six couples and we all had lovely rooms. The resort is beautiful.

Catherine Golden: We stayed on the Bavaro side in building 32. We were on a Club Hacienda package through Sunquest. Our third floor room looked over the quiet pool and was a short 5 minute walk to anywhere on the resort. Of the buildings in the Club Hacienda section building 30 would be the closest to the beach and the activities in the main pool. Building 34 would be closer to the middle activity pool.

Enjoy your trip. We certainly did. To us the resort is a 5*. Also, try to learn some Spanish before you go. It really helps the communications, especially with the room service staff.

Both sides are exactly the same - just mirror each other. Just returned last night. We were in bldg 5 - which isn't too far from the beach. That's ridiculous that they consider a 13 yr old and adult. We had both children 9 and 12, and they were half the price of ours. Our room had two double beds, and a couch, w/ covered sheets and pillow. Our kids switched off on the couch. Don't stay in the premier.. its all the way up by the restaurants. Bahia Principe is not all that. We have been to many all inclusives, and this is not our favorite. We had fun, but would not return.

Asutton, be lucky you went this year because 12 is the last year they are considered an adult.

What did you feel was missing from the Bahia Principe that didn't impress you?
