Is the town close enough to walk to, and worth the walk, 4 more days.

Hi skypig!

You are staying at CDM is that right? If so...than yes you can walk easily into Bayahibe from the resort! Walk to the beach and then turn left and it is a 5 or 10 minute walk at a leisurely pace from CDM...

It is a lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon...wandering around and soaking up the local culture..

Enjoy!!!

Happy Travels!

From Casa del Mar you can see the walk to Bayahibe by following the pictures starting at: …webshots.com/photo/2344009150064234328kNRkXz Once you get to Bayahibe, I show the walk back too!

You can see Bayahibe in the album at: travel.webshots.com/album/563221847ytecdr

Make sure you take advantage of touring the Bayahibe Point and see the culture of the area as well as the site of the oldest discovered civilization in the Caribbean. An overview is at travel.webshots.com/album/563635864YIXmtH

I think a walk to Bayahibe is mandatory for all staying at CDM! If nothing more, it's a couple of hours out of your stay. If you see its charms, it turns into a couple of visits per week. I've met people at the hotel on past stays where one or a couple of them choose to join me for the walk and the others say that they're okay staying at the hotel. They usually end up wishing that they'd gone too. You may not think it's all that, but isn't it better to find out for ourselves?!
