Just returned from CDM this afternoon |
|
We just got back from CDM today after a week stay. I have to admit, I was getting a little worried after the bad room reports. Let me tell you, we were in building 3 and the room (3218)was perfect. Maid service was great, thanks Ana. The grounds are beautiful. Water & beach were beautiful. Food, good with plenty of choices. Anyone who can't find something they like must be EXTREMELY picky. Three times we had managers ask us if there were any problems & if so let them know. Also at the managers cocktail, the big boss said, to everyone there, "if there are any problems to let someone know right away, don't wait until you are checking out". After three times of being asked is there anything that's wrong and telling them we couldn't think of a thing, I finally realized on Friday that maybe they could use some new pillows. That was the ONLY complaint I had about the resort. And frankly, I didn't even care about the pillows, except they kept asking if there was anything that could be improved on. On a side note, we did dive with Gri Gri @ Catalina Island. Wonderful experience. Also did the Outback Safari and had a great time. Thanks Danny Boy & Papi. Word of warning on the Santo Domingo tour, six people from CDM went (along with a bus load from Punta Cana) none of us six had a lot of good to say about the tour. To drive almost 2 hours on a bus to Santo Domingo and see the little bit that you see, it just wasn't worth it. I would have preferred they skip the cheesy shopping stops and show us more of the history in the city. Or for those who like to shop and not see history, make an all day shopping excursion. Plus the service at the Hard Rock Cafe, where we had lunch, was terrible. It was as if, since they knew they were getting paid for the meal, plus tip, they didn't need to be efficient. It takes a lot for me to complain about servers at a restaurant, these guys were just terrible. If you want to go to Santo Domingo, I would suggest hiring a local guide to take you. I think somebody may have suggested this before, after having the same complaints I did. I wish I had listened to them and the trip would have been better. Anyway, I will give my full review of CDM on the hotel page. |
