I am facilitating a large group trip to CDM/Dreams in La Romana next Jan/Feb. I would like to present two different optional group excursions for the group. Mostly, we travel to Punta Cana and are familiar with the Kon-Tiki/Calypso party boat. Does anyone know if they will offer that as a half day trip to a large group(40 people) from La Romana? Maybe somebody can put me in touch with the Apple Vacations Rep on site there so I can talk with him directly? Secondly, at least half of our group would like to take the Outback Safari trip on a Friday. From the documentation that I have found (thanks baltobabe) it looks like it is only offered on Tuesdays. Is this current information? and we are out of luck? or is there a newer schedule out there that I can get a hold of ahead of time? I appreciate your feed back.

Hola Lovethebeach...

If you will email me at

baltobabe@gmail.com

I would be happy to forward it along to Michelle Evans who is the Manager of AMStar in LaRomana she is in charge of all the Apple Reps at the various resorts there.

I think she will be able to work out something for you and your group!

Happy Travels

I can provide you with a few options for what a large group might find interesting, and I can put you in touch with some of the management for a couple of the excursions, like Crazy Wheels and the River Adventure, where you can speak to them directly about arranging a couple of outings or even a full day. You may want to send 20 out on the ATVs while the other 20 do the River Adventure, then have everybody switch.

There are a number of options on boat tours to the islands, some of which hold smaller numbers (my favourite company maxes out at 15 people) to those that have 100 people on the catamaran. If you're okay with not being the only ones on the cat, then that will be an option, but you'd be split up for the speedboat portion where you can only fit 18 in a boat, so then you'd have to travel in tandem.

I am doing the same thing right now! Working with a group of 16 - 18, with 4 children, 2 university girls and then a pack of adults who are headed to CDM in February. There sure are a lot of logistics to work out.

For some of the tours that are locally run and not done as big business or as a foreign owned company, there is a lot more flexibility and you may not have to go on Tuesday, just because that's what's advertised to the masses. It depends on which tours you're interested in and who you're dealing with.

Get in touch with me about your interests and age group if you'd like suggestions or assistance!

I would appreciate any suggestions. We range in age from 10 to a very young 70 something... and there are 45 of us. We have already visited the neighboring islands (Sanona/Catalina) and would prefer not to do so again since we are already coming from a fantastic beach. The Crazy Wheels and River Adventure both sound great, we are out for more crazy fun than cultural experiences. We also prefer the half day adventures when available, to the all-day events. It would be great to be able to offer something in advance rather than scrambling around at the last minute. Thanks for your help and advise. nancy
