Off to Antigua next wednesday and the forecast is not looking very good. Windguru forecasts 90% cloud cover and rain. Not happy spending my hard earned cash and have it rain all the while, especially as I lost my first holiday with XL. Anyone know any different re the weather?

It's too soon to accurately predict but do anticipate some inclement weather. I find Windguru is very accurate. It may be cloudy but you still may enjoy beach weather.

Hi Brian.

I'm actually heading out there on Wednesday too. I've been keeping an eye on the National Hurrican center, and it seems there's potential for one forming (or at least a tropical depression), and heading to antigua. Probably wont be a hurricane in antigua, but we might get the starts of one which will probably mean rain. On the up side, they can move pretty quick, so it might just pass in time for our trip.

If you want to keep an eye on it, here's the website: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/index.shtml . It's the orange slurge on the right that i'm worried about. Lets hope that it moves quickly over, and then brings sunny weather after it!

Nicky

Antigua at the moment is pretty wet, we have had 48hours of pretty wet weather and in truth no a lot os sun, maybe 2 hours in 48 but its still warm and the rain is warm as well!

There is a tropical depression also passing through in the middle of next week, it may of course pass north of us and it is hard at this point to say how much rain/bad weather it will bring but t will pass by after a day or two.

Sorry to say this but the rain does keep the island green, waterthe garden and keep the cistern full for a while, not good for your vacation but good for the island in general. Antiguans call rain liquid sunshine!

Hi Brian,

June - end of October is hurricane season in the Caribbean so yes, it can be very wet.

Just back yesterday. Had some major thunder and lightning storms but there was always a break to catch some sun. Liquid sunshine ranged from moderate to monsoon but it never rained all day. Humidity is pretty high just now due to this and the mossies are biting! Rememeber the deet! Never spoiled our holiday! You'll have a great time and the bars don't close when the liquid sunshine comes down...We manged to add some freckles to our already "blue" skin . so we cannot complain. At least it's warm! Have a good time

March is a lovely month: cooler nights and typically sunny days.
