Hi, we are going to Galley Bay in Septemebr for our honeymoon. Could somebody who has been recently advise on what the security is like? We are in a Gauguin cottage and we're wondering how secure they are?

Thanks v. much

I feel GB is very secure. There is a security upon arrival as well as a lagoon walk to get to the property. If you lock the doors and windows you will be fine.

I was at Galley Bay in July, its perfectly safe. Closed gates and security on all street entrances. All areas of the resort have security guards patrolling 24 hours a day. No problems at all.

Hi I'm wondering the same about Galley Bay - going in January... does anyone know if the pathways back to the Premium suites from dining/common areas are decently well lit?

We stayed in a premium suite in May of this year and "Yes" the pathways are well lit. Nothing to worry about at all. Enjoy your trip...you will love Galley Bay.

Hi. Just wanted to say we are also going to stay in the Gauguin Cottages in January, and have had similar concerns to everyone else about the security, but it does seem that GB is pretty on the ball as far as this is concerned. Additionally though I have found several places on the net that sell alarms that you can either attach to hotel room door handles, and detect any attempt to move them, and also 'doorstop' type alarms. If you are still worried these may help put your mind at rest, and help you get a sounder nights sleep. Personally I took a lot of time searching for what seems to be the perfect place for us and am really looking forward to our trip. Seems a lot of you are planning to go in January too - look forward to seeing you there!

I just returned from Galley Bay and while I didn't stay in a cottage, I did notice security guards were constantly patrolling the grounds. The paths are well lit -- I would not have a problem walking around there by myself (female, aged 40). It is such a quiet and peaceful place, I had no worries about security.
