My wife and I have been year round residents of Northeast Harbor for about 15 years and tonight we found our new favorite restaurant in the area. We chose Guinness and Porcelli's because of their small plate options and, I must say, we were not disappointed! The service was pretty good (not great but not terrible) but the food made... more

My spouse and I had dinner here on a recent trip through Bar Harbor. We ate outside, on the patio. Dinner was excellent. The $8 cocktail was worth it. The salad was delicious. The chicken piccata was delicious. A warm chocolate souffle type dessert was divine. The service was perfect--unobtrusive yet attentive. Not rushed. It wasn't a glamorous meal, just... more

We stayed overnight on our 30th honeymoon and wanted a nice diner. We did not get one. I ordered a simple salad with greens and balsamic. I got an inedible combination of bitter greens and who knows what passing as balsamic. It was beyond bad. For the second time in my 58 years, I sent a dish back to the... more

We also went in search of another restaurant after finding Poor Boy's too busy to take us which turned out to be a good thing. Guinness and Procelli's was excellent. The meal was one of the best of our trip to New England. The bar served wonderful drinks, and the food was very flavourful and interesting. We would highly recommend... more

We made a reservation at Guiness and Porcelli's and arrived early, so we had a drink at the bar. The bartender was extremely busy, but he handled it very well, providing good service. When we were seated, we were greeted by a pleasant and engaging waitress. We ordered an appetizer, and had the sword fish and filet mignon for dinner,... more

My husband and I had dinner here a few weeks ago. The restaurant was crowded and extremely noisy! There was a musician singing and playing guitar so loudly that we could barely converse without shouting. The atmosphere was not great; the decor wasn't very classy. The food was tasty but overpriced for what we got. The restaurant was so noisy... more

Although this restaurant appeared, from the outside, to be a place for a more intimate dinner, it was actually quite loud inside, with a little less of the romantic atmosphere of which we had hoped. The appetizer of goat cheese and crostini was very good, and our entrees, although also good, will not be something that we will be particularly... more

I was pleasantly surprised by the fare at this relatively new restaurant in Bar Harbor. We arrived late in the evening with no reservation, waited for about 30 minutes, and were then seated outside. We had a nice little antipasto appetizer, followed by soup, and pasta seconds. The pasta dishes were excellent! We would definitely return, although I recommend making... more

The 2-hr wait at Poor Boy's sent us over to G & Ps. Earlier we had walked past it and made fun of the irish name on an italian resturant, but we are so glad that did not stop us from dining here. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching the Main St. activity pass by. The extensive wine... more
