Almost by accident, my husband & I stumbled upon this place when we got lost with all the traffic and construction going on. It was a beautiful church transformed into a lovely restaurant/bar. The stained glass windows are just beautiful. We were there at "Happy Hour" and sampled the Celestial and Pious Dunkel beers. We also had the chicken wings... more
A cathedral among brewpubs, well not exactly, a converted church. All the same this is a brilliant venue for drinking beer, perhaps some would argue that old churches shouldn't be used for such things but if it keeps the building "alive" lets have more such conversions. We went to Church Brew Works last night - I hadn't been there in years and was glad to go back. They still have great beers and their yummy pierogie pizza (10 slices; can easily feed 3 people, or just 2 people if you're really hungry). Service was friendly and fast, even though the place was hopping with a pre-Penguins... more

in Pittsburgh for some baseball and went here again....great beer.....do the sampler...gives you a good taste of what they offer at the time........had a pizza this time.....very, very good!! will continue to stop there when i'm in town.....just a short cab ride from downtown...$7-$10 cab ride........worth it..... more

this is where to take guests form out of town. the story of Pittsburgh: no religion, no respect to anything. Just good food and great beer. great pizzas. never open when you want it. more
