I stumbled across the Hotel Riviera Bleu in Diamante, Calabria almost by accident in 2004 looking for somewhere to stay on a long drive back from Reggio di Calabria to Sorrento and recommend it highly (I returned for another stay in 2005 and will doubtless return again soon). I visited there in late September. The price was great, the staff was attentive, and the room was large, comfortable and lovely. The private beach is across a small road in front of the hotel.
