The Aqua Island Colony is a poor excuse for a hotel. Not only is it dirty and infested with bed bugs and roaches, the staff are unhelpful and unfriendly. Do not let the reviews that this place was "clean, close to beach, and worth the stay, fool you! This was the worst hotel my family has ever stayed at! We recently stayed on the 22nd floor at the hotel for 9 nights at $180 per night for a one bedroom with a kitchen. I don’t think we would stay there again but considering that we found lodging in Waikiki on relatively short notice (4 weeks in advance), I would rank the lodging as adequate for the price and availability.... more
