We travelled from Barcelona, Spain with my husband and our 5-years-old daugter , and we stayed in a condo rented via www.rbo.com, our very confortable condo(great bed and matress), full kitchen, lovely livingroom Breakfast at Plantation cafe was not too much good but the staff was very kind. We had dinner at Aaron's Top on the 34 th floor and... more

I travel to Honolulu several times a year on business. I chose this hotel after a pretty unpleasant experience at the Doubletree Alana. The Ala Moana looked about as nice and was significantly less expensive. Also, the location offers very easy accesss to the Ala Moana shopping center, Waikiki, and downtown. Overall, I consider the Ala Moana a solid three... more

The hotel is a Honolulu landmark. It's lobby is open and welcoming. The staff is friendly. The food service is appalling!! No room service. Breakfast is limited to a breakfast buffet and closes at 10:00 am. If you want a cup of coffee after that time, you are directed to the adjacent mall. Lunch is limited to a very small... more

Our family stayed in the hotel for 8 days. We booked online for two queen beds in Kona, but when we checked in, the desired configuration was not available. So we were upgraded to Waikiki tower with extra $20/night. The room was small, but very clean. It was conveniently located and close to Waikiki, but with a much lower price.... more

We found the Ala Moana on vacationrentals.com (listing #32165). You can rent directly from the hotel website at a higher price and with typical hotel services. We rented direct from the owner and found it an incredible value for our one week stay. The room was exactly as advertised, clean and up-to-date decor. The owner was very easy to deal... more

Now, I live on Kauai and stayed and went on a girls trip to Kauai. They upgraded us to a kitchenette room and it was wonderful. Loved being close to shopping, nightlife and our other friends nearby!!! loved it!!! Nice lean room with flat screen s and coffee in the AM after a long night!!! close to shopping and fun! more

We just spent 3 nights at the Ala Moana and it was great. The hotel was clean and updated. Our room was spacious and clean., had a microwave and refrigerator. The view from the balcony was great- we could see the ocean and the mountains-but we weren't there for the view. We were on the 21st floor so the city... more

I just got back from Hawaii on an 8 day vacation. This was my second time in Honolulu. I originally planned to stay in Waikiki again but decided at the last minute to do something different. The Ala Moana is not technically in Waikiki but it's only a 10 minute bus ride. You can easily walk in about 1/2 hour.... more

We encountered a welcoming experience at the Ala Moana Hotel. I was very skeptical because a few weeks before our arrival they received a bad review from a previous guest and the pool was closed for renovations. However, we followed through and was pleased. The hotel staff was courteous, the room was clean, and the view remarkable. The room had... more

At first glance, this hotel looks very nice. Big reception area and a nice bar. But the room was average with a small balcony. We had our room in the 32th. floor! If you are afraid of heights ask for a room further down when booking. There are 6 elevators and it was never a problem getting up and down.... more
