The hotel is a Honolulu landmark. It's lobby is open and welcoming. The staff is friendly. The food service is appalling!! No room service. Our family stayed in the hotel for 8 days. We booked online for two queen beds in Kona, but when we checked in, the desired configuration was not available. Now, I live on Kauai and stayed and went on a girls trip to Kauai. They upgraded us to a kitchenette room and it was wonderful. I just got back from Hawaii on an 8 day vacation. This was my second time in Honolulu. I originally planned to stay in Waikiki again but decided at the last minute to do something different. At first glance, this hotel looks very nice. Big reception area and a nice bar. But the room was average with a small balcony. We had our room in the 32th. floor! If you are afraid of heights ask for a room further down when booking. There are 6 elevators and it was never a problem getting up and down.... more
