We are in our mid 40's now and have not been there in 20 years. All we could say was WOW! The place is amazing. Rooms are a bit small and lack of a decent frig in the room is a bummer, but for the price, view, great eats and beach front it can't be beat. Not to mention the... more

The HaleKoa is a great place to stay. we were there for 4 days and enjoyed every minute of it. great rooms, great restaurants, great pools, great pool bar. GREAT! compared to other places we stayed in Hawaii the prices are wonderful. Thank you for having such a great place for our military to go and recharge their batteries. Highly... more

My boyfriend and I are both military. I am in the National Guard and he is retired Active Duty. He now works for the civilian sector and had a business trip to attend in Oahu the week of 1-8 May 2008. Since it was a last minute trip the Hale Koa was booked. However, we continued to call back to... more

wonderful place to stay on the cheap in waikiki. on great stretch of beach with big kids and adult pools. extremely friendly and helpful staff. this place doesn't try to get you every chance like other hotels in hawaii. they have an exchange that sells cheap food and the restaraunts are very affordable. all the feel of a resort, it... more

This was a great value. Not the prettiest, most luxurious, but a great value nonetheless. We paid 135 a night for an ocean view room. The room was comparable to a two or three star hotel. It was adequate. Not the cleanest, shower pressure was not good, but hey, who wants to stay in a room when you're in HAWAII???... more

Our family just returned from 7 days at the Hale Koa. We've travelled to Maui, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, and throughout the United States, and our overall Hale Koa experience was exceptional and we are very happy with our decision to stay here. The grounds are beautiful! We paid $168/night for water view and were on Waikiki beach with other... more

I have been staying at the Hale Koa for 10 day increments for the last 5 years and all I can say is ..... AMAZING! The resort itself is breathtaking. The amenities are second to none. I have read many of the reviews and you will NOT find a beach front resort of this magnitude for the price! The pools... more

Even if the hotel is booked call regularly if you can. I was traveling with my Mom who was staying next door at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We booked literally 6 weeks before our trip even though no rooms were available. We just kept calling and got a room during spring break no less! Ask to stay in the newer... more

This hotel is available only to military families. It offers a fine resort type experience for significantly less than surrounding Waikiki hotels. The only complaint I have is that unlike most fine hotels, they charge $15.00 per child 12 and over for each day. With two daughters 12 and 14 this added $30.00 per day to the bill not an... more

My husband is Acive Duty Air Force, and we were lucky enough to take a 6 night vacation at the Hale Koa! We had a Delux Ocean Front Room in the newer tower. It was a huge room - king bed, sofa, wonderful lanai with a spectacular view. While the rooms are not luxurious - the are nicely furnished, impecably... more
