got 2 nights at this hotel for $60/night which was awesome for our budget and included free valet and a "lite" breakfast (donuts and coffee). the room was fine, bed, tv, bathoorm (very decent), small but clean. we spent most of the time walking around the city so that's all we needed. perfect for young people on a budget. only... more

I have never been treated so badly by any staff at any hotel. I booked the trip through Orbitz which offered a great rate with complimentary valet parking. While waiting in line at the front desk on Saturday afternoon, 8/2/08, I noticed that the clerk seemed to have a lazy attitude. When it was my turn to check in she... more

The rooms at the ambassador were awful - our room has a single window that looked out to the hallway (No natural light). Also the room had a stale kind of smell, and the bathroom was ancient. Walked passed some rooms with windows that received natural light which bore reality to the Ambassador's website. The woman who booked tours was... more

During the Summer months (Low Season) many hotels in New Orleans give discounts. On a tourism webpage I found this hotel as advertising $99 for 2 nights plus free valet. It worked out perfect for me and my girlfriend as we were going to just walk around and party a bit. The catch is that you have to call the... more

I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel this past weekend. I have never, ever experienced such poor customer service. Let's just start at the beginning... upon arriving to the hotel, I was informed that they did not have a reservation in my name. I booked my room directly through the hotel's website, so this did not make much sense to me.... more

My husband and I decided to save some money and experience staying at an independent hotel, rather than a large chain. We thought the hotel pictures and many hotel reviews would lead to a pleasant and affordable stay. We figured since we are city explorers, we wouldnt be spending much time there anyways. I called the hotel directly and reserved... more

Recently I stayed at the Ambassador in New Orleans. I have been to New Orleans several times after Katrina. This hotel is very unique. The staff were GREAT! I was greeted every time. The front desk and valet were very nice. I mention this because I stayed at another hotel owned by the same company and the customer service wasn't... more

My wife and I chose this hotel based on the website pictures, and the close proximity to the action. When we arrived, we were given a first floor room with a brick wall just inches from the window. The ground outside the window (ground within the hotel complex) was covered with garbage from previous guests. When I complained, I was... more

My husband and I decided to go to New Orleans to celebrate our anniversary. The pictures on the hotel website showed a beautiful romantic room with exposed brick and a 4-poster bed. We were thrilled and decided this would be the perfect place to stay. Instead of booking online, we called to book so that we could request one of... more
