We stayed at the Best Western Independence Park for one night over the weekend after July 4th. We had two connecting rooms, for two adults, two teenagers and one middle schooler. The hotel was comfortable, clean, quiet, and seemed freshly renovated. The young woman at the front desk was helpful with dinner and walking suggestions. (We had a delicious simple... more

Stayed at the Best Western at 235 Chestnut Street - small boutique hotel. The front desk staff is the concierge/bellman and all hats at this hotel. Hotel is very clean, small and historic. We checked in early so our room was not ready. My daughter and I left our luggage with the front desk and said that they would store... more

Perfect location in the heart of the historic area. Easy walking to all sites. Wonderful historic building with high ceilings. Small facility - only 30 or so rooms. Staff was very nice - Chris may be the hardest working man in the hotel business. He does everything, including hailing you a cab in the rain and holding the door (he's... more

What a wonderful place in a wonderful part of the city. My business partners and I had previously stayed at the OMNI and the Hyatt Hotels. We heard about thus place from 2 of the companies we were visiting in the area. We were treated like people, not numbers and the staff coulldn't be more gracios and helpful. Our trip... more

I agree with the other posters who rave about the location. It was perfect for walking to most of the historic sites along Independence Mall. The breakfast offered lots of choices. The parking was a bit more expensive than we had anticipated because we stayed 40 minutes past 24 hours - suddenly $23 instead of $15 - but that was... more

We had a delightful stay at this hotel. The location was within walking distance of all of the main historical sites. We parked our car when we got there and did not use it until we left 2 days later. The parking is $15 for 24 hours. A great bargain when we compared other lots. The hotel room was very... more

I am at the computer in the lobby and preparing to go to the Philly airport. It is a very calm, comfortable atmosphere...in a hotel built in 1857. The personality of this hotel is unique and all of the employees have been professional, friendly and competent. I do plan to return at another date!! more

This review is mostly an update with some further details, particularly for families. We had booked a Queen room with roll-away which was $10/night extra. On arrival, we asked the front desk about getting a 2-Queen room which she gave us at the same rate as the 1-Q with roll-away. The 2-Q room was reasonably large for us (2 adults,... more

Stayed at this hotel for two nights in early December 2006 because it was in the heart of Independence Park. No onsite parking, but the garage was about a minute's walk away. We parked the car and walked everywhere for the next two days. All of the historical attractions were within a few minutes walk. Staff was very friendly, the... more

Best Western Independence Park is in a historic building in the Old City ideal for walking to the Visitors Center, Independence Hall, LIberty Bell, Betsy Ross House, US Mint (NO cameras and no place to store them), museums, and shopping. Philly is a walking town so dress casually with comfortable shoes and walk. While my husband was in his business... more
