So I probably one of the few that am not giving this hotel 4 stars. Knowing the Marriott brand well I have even higher expectations for their flagship line, the JW Marriott hotels. I had a nice stay but have stayed at far nicer JW's in other cities. We arrived around 10pm and had to wait outside for someone (anyone)... more

We stayed here while in town for a friend's wedding. We were very impressed with the location and the room, and will absolutely come back when we are in town again. Check-in is on the third floor. When we first arrived, we wandered around for a bit before we realized that we had to go upstairs. The one thing that... more

I arrived in San Francisco via the Amtrak Thruway Bus from the Emeryville train station. I arrived early but the friendly front desk person was able to find me a room on the ninth floor. Check in was smooth and fast. There was a makeshift lobby on the ground floor because the main lobby on the 2nd floor was being... more

Just returned from a great weekend stay at the JW before heading up to wine country. I had mixed feelings originally from reading postings about this hotel but decided to give it a try anyway. Actually we got a great bonus for staying the weekend we did. The hotel had a big relaunch party Friday night of their lobby restaurant... more

We stayed at the JW Marriott as the last stop on our honeymoon. The experience was great from the moment we arrived. We were greeted warmly with a big congratulations, and our room was upgraded. We were also given access to the club lounge, which was excellent. The room was very nice and spacious, and when we ordered room service... more

My wife and I recently spent a three day weekend at the JW. The hotel and staff were terrific. The hotel has just gone through a complete renovation and everything is new and spotless. The room, bathroom, club lounge and lobby were all first-rate. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Powell St BART station, Powell-Mason cable... more

We spent 7 nights at the JW Marriott this past April with our 6 and 10 year old kids who were out of school on spring break. The hotel is conveniently located a couple of blocks from Union Square. Our "executive" room was tastefully decorated and included a very comfortable king size bed, a sitting area that included a sofa... more

I recently was in SF on business and was booked at the JW Marriott on Post St. I arrived late in the evening and was exhausted. The staff made check in very easy and placed me in a beautiful room on the 20th floor. They even ordered a fruit and cheese plate that was delivered to my room within 5... more

We stayed at the JW Marriott San Francisco the week of April 21st. We were greeted by a very friendly doorman and front desk girl. We were checking in very early (9am) and she offered us an upgrade to a suite at 50% off (someone had just cancelled their reservation). We took it and were so glad we did! The... more
